Pomegranates and Peonies is an exotic twist on the classic chintz and draws its inspiration from Katie’s collection of vintage Japanese Tsutsugaki (“tube drawing”) textiles, which showcase the freehand style of this resist dye method. By re-working the artist’s fanciful motifs of playful bugs, butterflies, and peonies in ceramic vases into a handsomely scaled repeat, the design has retained its charming spontaneity while becoming suitable for large upholstery pieces and luscious window treatments.
