A 15th century satin Kaftan decorated with Appliqué Crescents inspired the design of Luna. The compelling, crescent motif has enjoyed long associations with astronomy and the zodiac from early Islamic times ,and the moon itself has been imagined as a goddess by ancient cultures from time immemorial. We love the power and energy of Luna and are mesmerized by how quiet or intense this deceptively simple design becomes depending on the colorway. Luna is hand screened in upstate New York and is easily customizable.
