The design for Thebes sprung from a painting Katie happened upon in the Tomb of Nebamun and Ipuky (c.1355 B.C.), depicting lamenting women in the foreground with a curious pillar of blossoming papyrus plants in the background. Always drawn to Nature, Katie chose to spotlight the beautiful flower clusters, simplifying the composition and re-imagining the layout as a classic Indian block print design. This pattern makes glorious window treatments, both shades and curtains, and gives rooms wonderful pop as pillows. Thebes is hand printed on Belgian linen and is available in three colourways.
