Spanish artist Emilio Agudiez, sometimes referred to as Justo, is the main promoter of modern ventriloquism in shows in Chile and Argentina, as well as having influenced the physical and mechanical aspect of the puppets that are used on this side of the world, being a member of a family that manufactures these dolls.

Osvaldo Sosa Cordero recounts in “Historia de las varietés en Buenos Aires. 1900-1925”, that by 1915, when he was only 14 years old, Agudiez was already handling about 17 dolls with enormous skill, highlighting the one that would eventually be his physical extension, his duality or alter ego : Don Pánfilo.
