“We Whisky Watercolor Club members are all students and fans of the eminent British Architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. We helped organize a trip to the UK in the fall of 2021 to see his work in Southwestern England. Early mornings before the programming began, we five would head out to find a paintable scene. We loved the look of this blustery bay. So we sat on the grassy humps and started painting. Within five minutes there was a rainbow, within eight minutes a double rainbow followed by pelting rain three minutes later, while the sun still shone! I held the pad above my head to shelter the paper and kept painting for another 15 minutes. Then the rain was too hard and I finished it in the lodge 30 minutes later… its a miracle it survived!” – Barnes

All profits from the sale of these works will be donated to the Peconic Land Trust in Long Island and the Lutyens Trust America.
