“Hotel Schloss-Velden Wӧrthersee” Hans Wagula

This original vintage travel poster (c. 1935) depicts a sailboat in the foreground of the Schloss Velden castle in Austria.
After a fire devastated the original Renaissance castle built in the 16th century, the Schloss Velden was rebuilt in a Neo-Renaissance style and opened as a hotel in 1890.
The castle is located on the scenic western shore of Lake Wӧrth (Wӧrthersee) and has served as a backdrop for numerous film productions since the 1950s.
