“Suzani” means needlework, but to most collectors, the word has a more specific meaning: “suzani” is synonymous with the glorious embroideries of Uzbekistan, in Central Asia.  In recent years, we’ve witnessed a remarkable revival of this old traditional art form.

Suzanis stand alone, or make incredible headboards, ottomans or other creative upholstery items, adding a one-of-a-kind touch to interiors that is sure to impress and intrigue.

This large, extremely decorative and colorful embroidery from Central Asia, possibly the Tashkent region is densely embroidered throughout with gorgeously colored thread on a cotton or linen ground cloth. Such embroideries are considered by some to be extremely collectible.
